Heart-Shaped

Over a year ago I made this necklace. It was created from a piece of recycled hardwood that had taken a beating from being a support in my dad's old fashioned button-maker (hence the circles on the wood). I cut into a heart-shape with a jig saw and grinded it down, creating burns on the wood. I then stained it and put a thin coat of wax on the necklace. I finished it off with a leather strand. It hangs right below the sternum. These are available on commission, but a fair warning, it goes with everything and the wearer will find that she feels naked without it. Each necklace is made from recycled hardwood that has a story of it's own, so no two are a like.. sizes vary slightly.
